Years From Now We Will Laugh About This??Right??
So life has been pretty hectic lately, but I wouldn't want to miss blogging about my latest adventure. I guess, since it is about someone else having a bad day it is easier to blog about.
So on Friday evening we went over to my Mom's to eat dinner and play some cards. Kirsten8or spent a fair amount of time whining about all things not fair. Finally I had it(after a gazillion warnings)and sent her to one of the bedrooms. I was telling my Mom about how she hadn't been the best girl of late and my mom was saying that she is only 8 and I'm being to hard on her. As I was heading into the bedroom to talk with her, Konman comes running out of the room yelling "She sprayed the pepper spray!" and coughing. She comes running out screaming. We immediately undressed her and put her in the shower and called poison control. Apparently, she sprayed it on the wall and her own face. There was a oily substance running down her arm. All of us were coughing and sneezing and my arms burnt just from when I undressed her. When things calmed down, I asked my Mom if she still thought I was being to hard on her. I don't know about you all, but I love it when natural consequences do my disciplining for me. I'm guessing she will be more careful about what she gets into from now on. I'm just glad it wasn't poison. On a side note, my Mom takes the pepper spray with her when she goes on walks and she has had to use it on a dog before.

I'm Hiding ...
Like a big kid behind a mailbox. I was at lunch yesterday with my mom and sister. We were talking about blogging and my mom mentioned she didn't have my blog address anymore. I immediately said "Sweet! Now I can blog about you" and I was thinking to myself I should never be short on ideas of what to blog about ever again. I've never been one to not back up my words, so welcome to my first story about my mother and here's to many more. "Cheers!"
So while we were eating our lunch, my mom tells us about this little bird she bought on clearance for $1. She liked it, but didn't know why she bought it. The bird is about 2 inches long and is made out of ribbons and beads. I saw it and it is actually pretty cool looking. She decided to hang it from her rear view mirror and that is when she had her "epiphany". Those are her words. She stated that now if she got mad at someone while driving. She could just "flip them the bird" and they would never know. So if you are driving around town and you see this nice looking older lady flicking something hanging from her rear view mirror, that is my mom and she is "flipping you the bird". If you look a bit closer she'll probably have her teeth clinched; And if you were to turn down your stereo you could probably hear her growling at you. And speaking from experience, my advice to you is.... run away from that situation.

School Started on Monday! YIIIPPPEEE!!!
Oh Yeah! They were starting to drive me crazy.
We had a busy Summer. I don't think we had a chance to stop and just relax. Having to work on top if it all was a challenge. Since they only had 7 weeks for summer I wanted them to have a fun summer and not feel like they were missing out on anything. We, also, had Darktimber's extended family in town for a week and my extended family in town for almost a week. On top of having fun, they had required reading. Kirsten8or is going into 2nd grade and her reading was Charlottes Web and Konman is going into 4th grade and his reading was Pollyanna. Unfortunatly, just because you read Pollyanna doesn't mean that you start seeing the sunnyside of things. Kirsten8or got down to business and read her book fairly quickly on the other hand Konman spent more time complaining about having to read that actually reading. I've included pictures from some of our adventures.
Most of Konman's summer revolved around baseball.
He made the All-Star team and they ended up winning their division
in a come from behind victory. Those should be good memories for him.
Can you see the stitch marks?
SAFE!

Papa (from Iowa) is a Cardinal Fan and Konman is a Yankee Fan and some discussions took place. The goofy kid in the back ground is Kurt's cousin (from Kentucky).

School is out
I've been trying to work from home more now that school is out. I'm to cheap to pay for daycare. I find that I don't accomplish things nearly as fast when I'm getting interrupted every few minutes.
Just for the record, sometimes I don't care what your brother said. Or what you said, or what he said back, or how you are now very angry because he is laughing at you. Sometimes you say things that make it hard not to laugh. And "NO" he doesn't have to join your "rockin hotts" club. And if you are the only one that doesn't want to play baseball that doesn't mean that they are leaving you out to be mean and trying to take your friends away. NO you may not be the referee (no good will come of that!) or the Umpire. How about the cheerleader ? ( Did I really just suggest that? I must be losing my mind!) I don't blame you for not wanting to be the cheerleader. I understand, but they don't have to play what you want them to and that doesn't mean they are leaving you out. Well find something to do. Why don't you come play inside? I don't know, you could color or go on Webkinz World. I'm sorry but apparently they don't want to play that. Fine, I'm sure they could use a singer in their baseball game.

Pics coming soon!
I haven't forgot about you! I have pictures coming of Konmans head and it looks like there is a baseball coming out of it! Pretty Cool! And video of the Kirsten8or bowling. Very Enjoyable!

The Night My Son Won't Soon Forget
So that Conrad Flynn is a super nice guy. He ended up making my sons day, maybe year. Either way he gave him a lifelong memory. After the championship game on Friday night, in which Conrad pitched the whole game and led Grayson to a decisive victory. My son went over to tell him good game and Conrad game him his baseball glove with his name imprinted on it. So the glove and the signed baseball will live happily together on my sons desk. Although, my son has a game tonight and I wouldn't be surprised if he takes it. I'm sure it'll make him play better. After Conrad gave my son his glove. We tried to thank him, but couldn't wave him down. Apparently, the winning pitcher has(gets) to do a few interviews after the game. So I asked around and found his parents to relay the thanks to Conrad. They were just as nice. They took a picture of the two of them together. I wish I would have had my camera! Talk about a super nice family. What a treat for our family!
My Son is a Stalker
My son is officially stalking a JUCO baseball player. His name is Conrad Flynn. He is a right handed pitcher for Grayson County College. Not only does he have the same name as him, but they both have the number 15 on their baseball jerseys. How cool is that? Apparently, it is a lot cooler if you are a 9 year old who plays baseball. He tracked him down and got his signature, last night, as he was arriving for the game. He didn't have anyone else sign that baseball and he is going to put it on his dresser in his Grandad's baseball glove. Do not fear, he didn't want any other players to feel left out, and he has gotten most of their signatures on 3 different baseballs, a hat, and a baseball flag. He probably has gotten a couple of their signatures twice. My seven year-old daughter not to be out done has gotten her fair share of signatures.

Good Weather and Good Baseball
We have been having a good time at JUCO this year. We have fun every year, but now that the kids are getting older it has been so nice. Konman is 9 and the perfect age. He has been getting every players autograph, some probably more than once. I don't think he even knows who has signed his 3 baseballs. The Kirsten8tor has hardly whined at all. I don't have to tell you what a rare occurance that is. She has been getting autographs, also. The weather has been so nice. We have only missed 3 games. The kids are still in school, and they know if they whine or act tired we will be staying home. You would never know they were sleep deprived.

Cheeto the Beloved, Where Art Thou?
At Grandma's house where the Kirsten8tor left him!!! So don't be making threats or blaming me. It is your own darn fault!
So here is the story....Last night we went to my Mom's house to watch the American Idol finals. I let Kirsten come with me for a bit of a girls night watching AI. She insisted on bringing her 2 favorite Webkinz(Sliver the tiger snake and Cheeto the cheetah that is really a Jaguar) We watched American Idol, then waited for Kirsten8tor to put all the dress up clothes away, and then we left. When we were almost home I get a call from my mom and she says,"Tell Kirsten, not to worry I will take care of Cheeto for her." And like a dummy sitting on a ventriloquist knee I deliver the message to Kirsten8tor. Who proceeds to cry, very loudly with out taking a breath, as if we told her we were going to amputate her leg and she would have to hop around for the rest of her life. So my mom decides to entertain herself by asking her, "Since Grandpa is gone can Cheeto sleep with me or should she just throw Cheeto in the closet?" Yes folks she got even louder! Oh the thought. Kirsten8tor proceeded to wail all the way home and continued as she walked in the door, and walked around the house, and walked around the house again. So I told her to go to her room, go to bed, and keep it down. She eventually got quiet enough that I couldn't hear her or I'm just slowily going deaf, either way I was happy. Until I went to bed! She had written me a note. The note went like this
To Mom
From: Kirsten8tor I want Cheeto back
then a picture of Cheeto asking to be brought back
I want Cheeto back this week get to work now!
turn page over with and arrow
on other side-
1. I want Cheeto back
2. This week
3.so get to work on it
4Or I will be maber(madder) than I have ever been
Get to work on it right now!
Don't worry she is alive, but this morning we had a little talk. I told her that even if she ever wants to see Cheeto again she had better get an attitude adjustment! And if I get Cheeto back this week. She will not be getting Cheeto back for 2 weeks. If she was lucky!!!!
The last time something like this happened, and Kurt got after her for something. She left a picture on his pillow of a fire breathing dragon being chased by a monkey. She then labeled the dragon as Dad and the monkey as her. I found more humor in that drawing!

Adventures in Real Estate
This is what happens when you are a real estate agent showing vacant land and the following conversation takes place. As we are driving down dirt road on the property, since they have a truck and the terrain is a bit rough they offer to drive, so I hop in the back seat.
The wife says "Hey what is over there? I want to look over there"
Husband says "I can't get over there."
Wife says "We are in the truck can't you just go through there?"
Realtor says "Or we could stay on the road"
Wife says "Can't you just go through there?"
Husband says "Fine!"
Just for the record when this happened and they were apologizing. I simply stated, "This is so going on my blog." I did get their permission. Some of you might know these folks and I would love it if you gave them a hard time. Sorry the pictures and video aren't the best quality, I shot them on my cell phone.

Shameless Plug
Check out my new website at www.bringingyouhomeonline.com. I know the name isn't the best, but I had trouble coming up with a good one. My name was already taken and it isn't the easiest to spell. Although I'm still open to ideas. There aren't many good domain names left. If you get a chance check it out. I'd love to hear feedback. There are somethings I can't change, but some I can. Is it user freindly? Let me know!
What is in that Peace Pipe?
First off, HELLO ALL! I've been reading your blogs even if I'm not adding to mine. This working thing takes a lot of time. I'm really enjoying the adventure.
It seems like lately there has been plenty of conflict in my life, between my husband, extended family, and my children. My children have started arguing with me and each other every chance they get. When Konman (whose been learning about Indians at school) gets bored he starts looking for something to argue over and Kirsten8tor just argues and debates because she can(and she is pretty good at it). So after the kids had been arguing about the same thing for the upteen time, I told them for the upteeth time "I don't want to hear about, nobody is dieing or gushing blood, work it out amongst yourselves or else I will send you both to your rooms. Do you remember last time I said this?" (Last time they got this bad I tied them together and made them do chores, if nothing else I enjoyed it!) Well Konman starts trying to talk things out with Kirsten8tor and she(even though she is yelling) doesn't feel heard and fells the need to repeat herself over and over, until he surrenders. Finally he has had enough and can see that it is hopeless, but he wants to get in one last point so he says, "Well, I guess we won't be smoking the peace pipe today." Atleast then she finally quit making her point and gave him a very confused look. I got a good laugh out of that one. I had to chuckle at the thought of "What if they had worked things out? Does he have a peace pipe in his room for just such an occassion?" After the week I've had, my next thought was "Can I borrow his peace pipe? I could use it"

Still Alive and Attempting to Function
Sorry I haven't been blogging. It has been a crazy year. I love selling real estate, but it has been a huge adjustment for me and my family. I have come to the realization that my house will never be clean or organized. It has been tough to balance working full-time and there are times when I struggle to keep myself clean and organized. In fact, my goal this year is to be more balanced in my life and to handle the juggling act better. I enjoy blogging and hope to be more consistent even if it is only once a week. I know you are singing "You give me promises, promises" and you may be right.
